Came over from lurking on Tumblr, and I have little to no idea how this site works, but it looks like fun!

So hello! I'll have to get used to putting my own ideas out there, but I think I like this place!

The switch from reblogging to commenting and/or making your own posts is pretty wild at first, but most people get used to it quickly. Give it a week and you should have a sense on if the DW community system is going to be a good fit for you!

Welcome! I found this super useful: Anatomy of a Dreamwidth Post.

I've also found a few general communities that might be pretty good for starting out!

• questionoftheday - Every day they post a question you can answer in your journal. It helps when you want to be active, but don't really know what to say!
  
• fandomcalendar - If you're interested in fan events at all (either as an artist, writer or otherwise), this seems to be a great community to keep up to date with any fandom events going on on DW
  
• Speaking of, snowflake_challenge is an event coming up in January! It seems to focus on fandom experience rather than fanworks, so even if you're not a creator, that might be an interesting one to check out!
