[community profile] questionoftheday asks: What song do you have stuck in your head right now?

My answer: Last Sunday my college choir performed St. Luke's Passion with an orchestra and a children's choir so I've been singing little bits and pieces of it since then. Only little bits and pieces though, because the song is 75 minutes long. Imagine standing for 75 minutes for a song you only sing about 50-60% of. That was me last Sunday! Woohoo! (I...didn't really have comfortable enough shoes for that, so the experience was a bit unfortunate)

The song went better than I thought it would, considering we only spent about 2-3 months learning it. So at least there's that. I'm glad its over though; hopefully the next large piece we do isn't as absurd as this one was.

[community profile] questionoftheday asks: Are you more of a bath or a shower type of person?

My answer: I haven't taken a bath since I was very young, and I think I'd like to keep it that way. The idea of sitting in a bathtub in stagnant water that I just used to clean myself is a bit Yikes for me. So I'm definitely a shower person...I like everything to wash away down the drain as soon as possible.

...You know, someday I'd just like to stand under a waterfall or something. I think that'd be neat.

[community profile] questionoftheday asks: What are your resolutions for the new year? Are you good at keeping your new year's resolutions, or are they gone with the wind within the first week of january?

My answer: I don't usually have new year's resolutions, mostly because I know won't care enough about them to not break them before the end of January.

That being said, I got braces on the 31st, so I'm planning to get a notebook or something and write updates about it. I'm also going to be tracking my weight more often because I'm a bit worried about how much I'll be eating while my teeth are sore. Maybe I'll track what exactly I eat, too. I haven't decided yet. So I guess, in a way, those count as new year's resolutions? I think I'll be good with these since they're health-related and stuff I really should do anyway.

I also just downloaded a "Year in Pixels" app, so I guess another resolution is to fill in every day with an entry.

[community profile] questionoftheday asks: What is your relationship with technology? Do you keep up with the latest and greatest, or have you stuck with the older stuff you bought years ago as long as it still works?

My answer: I tend to buy new tech based on necessity, rather than the need for the "latest and greatest".

For example, whenever I've gotten a new computer, it's been because the old one broke. I used to get computers with plastic cases, so eventually, the casing started coming undone and falling apart, whether naturally or because I dropped it or something. Then the screen goes wack, and replacing the computer becomes a necessity because I need it for school. The computer I have now is not plastic - its metal - so hopefully it'll last for a while. It'd be great if it got me through college, at least.

I used to have a flip phone up until my last year of high school, and then my parents let me and my brother have smartphones. I think I got a Samsung S6…? If that's the case, then I still have it, and I'll probably keep it until it starts to show real problems. As long as its still functioning, it's fine with me!

Interestingly enough, I have a 4th gen iPod touch from who-knows-when that's served me just fine through high school, and even until now. The battery life is terrible, but it still plays my music! I carry it around with me a lot, and sometimes classmates who see it with me ask why I have 2 phones, lol. I don't really know what I'll do when it inevitably kicks the bucket…I like the touchscreen, and I like iTunes because it's easy to sort music there. I could always try to shell out a hundred or so dollars for another one…?

With video games its hard to keep up because there are so many consoles with so many cool-looking games and they're all so expensive! But I still have my Nintendo Wii; apparently its an early version that's backward compatible with Gamecube games, which is cool. My brother says that in a few years it might be worth a pretty penny, so we'll have to see about that. I also have a 3DS XL that I bought cheaply from a friend a few years ago, and I'm looking to buy a Nintendo Switch for Christmas this year because the Switch game library looks like fun and I wanna play Breath of the Wild.
