Hello! I'm Mrs. Luigi Vargas; you can call me Dami if you want!

On this blog, I generally make posts about fanfiction I've written or read, posts about media I'm thinking about, and some posts about my own life.

My transformative works policy is on my AO3 profile; the tl;dr is that blanket permission is granted to make all transformative works with proper credit as long as there's no AI involved in making it.

My current passions are writing fanfic (mostly for the Super Mario fandom), playing video games (mostly Nintendo), and singing (choral and a cappella music). I am also getting back into reading, with the Murderbot Diaries to start out. I've also gotten into MCYT recently, mainly Hermitcraft and Skyblock Kingdoms, among other series.

99% of my posts are public; only a few are locked because they contain too many clues as to where I live for comfort. Nonetheless, you're welcome to comment on anything you see, no matter how old it is!

Welcome to Rec-Cember, the month long multi-fandom reccing event. Let's recommend some fanworks! Let's appreciate and comment on those fanworks!

I'm going to do Rec-Cember this year! I'm excited! I'm going to use this post as a masterlist, because I'm planning on posting recs from one fandom per day in December. My goal is to clear out my AO3 bookmarks entirely; all these fics have given me joy at some point, so I'd like to share them! And then I can start reccing with a clean slate in the future!

Also, the last day will be my usual "50 fave fics of the year" list, of course.

The only Marvel thing I've ever seen is the back half of Iron Man.

Anyway, I really loved that 2012 Avengers fic era, where they all lived in the Tower and hung out and were friends. It's one of my favorite things ever. I miss it ;.; Bruce Banner my beloved ;.;

I’m going to admit that I haven't watched much of MHA, but I’d liked what I’d seen!The fanfic was also really cool! Lots of interesting ideas!

I've been reading Mario fanfic practically since I realized fanfiction was a thing. I was always sour that they made Mario talk in them XD But! The burst of popularity/fandom activity right after the 2023 Mario Movie was quite nice! Here's hoping the 2026 movie will have a similar effect.

I got into this book series in March and I've had a blast. I finally started System Collapse, too, and I’m hoping to finish it before the end of the year! I would have started it earlier, but it's just that Network Effect wrecked my entire life and I’d needed a break, lol.

A lot of this rec list is built on the backs of other reclists I've found. Which is the joy of rec lists, I suppose!

Empires was the 4th SMP I ever watched! (The first three being SOS -> Castaways -> The Guild) I got into it because I got into Pixlriffs via SOS and wanted to know about that other fandom most of his fics were tagged as, lmao. And then from this I jumped to Hermitcraft, and the rest is history!

Welcome to the start of the MCYT Fic Rec Week-Plus-Two-Days section of Rec-Cember! Because despite really only getting into MCYT last October, I managed to bookmark upwards of almost 400 MCYT fic in total. This was not helped by the time I spent in early January scrolling through the entire Hermitcraft SMP fandom tag on AO3 (filtered for fic with gen, sectioned by year). Which is why Hermitcraft is going to get two whole overflow days in January, lmao.

Anyway I need to get on scrolling through the 2025 Hermitcraft genfic at some point next year. That’ll be fun!

I think next year I wanna scroll through the entire Linked Universe fandom tag on AO3. Because there are a lot of good fics in there, and I wanna find more. In the meantime, these are the ones I have so far!
