Challenge #13: Talk about a community space you like.

A community space that comes to mind is a friend's semi-private Ace Attorney discord server. It's semi-private in the sense that, quoting the rules, the server "was created for a very specific demographic: that is, Ace Attorney fans from tumblr" (So they get a bit cranky when non-Tumblr folk join, to put it in my own words)

It's a really nice space though! For one thing, the admin states that "anti behaviour is not allowed in my server, nor is ship or character bashing". Which is good, because the Ace Attorney fandom does a lot of ship and character bashing, lmao (e.g. anti-narumayo, abusive!Manfred von Karma headcanons taken as fact, Godot racism). And there are a lot of antis whining about incest or problematic age gaps or whatever, too.

The server has a stupid amount of channels, but the point is that you're supposed to mute the ones you don't want. For example, I have a lot of the shipping channels muted, as well as the kin channels. They even have little server events that anyone can create and host if they want, like watch parties and games. 

I mostly lurk in there, but it's a very good and positive environment and the admin + mods should be proud of the space they've cultivated.

(And then you should watch the other Ace Attorney video essays on that channel because they are extremely well done)
