Challenge #3: Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all. 

Hello Super Mario Bros. Movie Fandom.

Very specific I know. But then again, I didn't realize that it was a distinction that needed to be made until you just kind of elbowed your way onto my Tumblr dashboard all of a sudden. 

You had some really cool and interesting takes on Mario and Luigi, too, which was a fun sandbox to watch you play in for a little while (until it started to bleed into other parts of Mario canon, anyhow). I even dabbled in playing in it myself. But not well enough to earn myself any particular favor with you, lol. Although I tried a little! Just a little, because I practically felt my soul slipping away from me at some point chasing said favor, it was kinda wild. So I stopped! And decided to Never Do That Again. (but not before making a friend or two!) (who’ve moved on to other fandoms that I’m not in by now!)

Regardless, it was fun! You were my most real foray into interacting with fandom yet, so I got my first tastes of stepping out of my shell, a little. I also learned I don't have to tolerate benignly boring and annoying fanon for the sake of it if I don't have to, which is something that comes in handy even today :) I still have the Mareach tag blacklisted, lmaooo. I know what I Don’t Like, now, and that’s important!

Despite it all, though, I’m still going to enjoy watching your resurgence after the new movie comes out this spring. Even if I 100% Will Not Act Like It. (and also a lot of it will be hidden because I’ve blocked a lot of you) (but that’s beside the point, I think XD)
