Unexpected, but not really surprised...

mrsluigivargasSo I posted my handsome, my dear yesterday, a fic that actually centers around a ship (Bowser/Luigi, to be precise), and in less than 24 hours it's the most kudosed fic on my account, with the most comments gotten without participating in any of r/Fanfiction's review exchanges.
I don’t really know how to feel about it.
On one hand: yay, popularity and feedback! This fic was fun to write and I'm glad people recognize that! On the other hand…as an aroace who slaves away over genfic, it's just another reminder that the Shipping Overlords reign supreme (to put it dramatically). My gen fic will never reach those heights, and that's a truth.
Oh well. There's not much to do about all that. At least some of my other fics got some spare kudos as well, so the rising tide lifted a few other boats, and that’s all I can ask for, really.
