Challenge #4:
In your own space, add something to your fandom’s canon.

I don’t really align with the "I wish the Paper Mario series was like how it used to be instead of what it is now" crowd, but one thing I will say in their favor is that I want Nintendo to bring Kammy Koopa back. She's only in the first two Paper Mario games, and she fills a similar if not the same exact role Kamek does in all the games he appears in. I especially want something where the two of them interact; it might go like M&L: Paper Jam did with Kamek and Paper Kamek and have them bicker and insult each other the entire time. A lot of headcanons regarding them interacting go that route, and I like to write them that way as well. It would be fun to have official content for it, though.

Also I wanna give Luigi his lightning powers back; a lot of the sports games recently have him use wind powers, and I feel like Thunder is better for him, imo. He's definitely a 'strike powerfully once from afar' kind of person, especially in contrast to his brother's up close and personal fire-like tendencies. Though I'm sure tornadoes align with his character in their own way (I just can't think of those ways right now...).

Wind powers probably go to Luigi because of the way that he became the high jumper when Doki Doki Panic was localized as Super Mario 2. He's retained that characterization of higher and longer jumps, but with less control and finesse in just of the other games he's been in was a distinct character and not just P2 Mario. (By that same logic, Toad's the Thunderclap.)

I see! That makes sense, actually; I can see Luigi using wind subconsciously or otherwise to boost his jumps...and the turn of phrase 'quick as lightning' would suit Toad in that case too, haha. He was the fastest in Super Mario 3D World as well. (Though I imagine that game took a boatload of cues from Super Mario 2 when it came to the playable characters.)

It would be cool, though, for them to combine the two and give Luigi lightning storm powers. Best of both worlds! ^_^

Toad is absolutely a Lightning Bruiser. (Storm powers for Luigi would be fun, but it's probably something that would only show up if Mr. L came out to play.)
