Bowser lowered his hand onto Mario’s shoulder. Mario sighed in his sleep, expression relaxing. Bowser scowled against the blood rushing to his cheeks. “I hate it,” he repeated.

This one was inspired by a headcanon a mutual had where Mario liked to relax in Bowser’s lap in a Bowsario context. The scene from the summary popped into my head soon after reading it, and I knew I had to try and build the context around it. Peach was a welcome addition; one thing I like about writing her and Bowser’s relationship is that Bowser is one of the few people she can be snarky and rude to, considering their history. And Bowser respects her too much to go off on her like he would anyone else who talked to him like that. It’s a unique dynamic!
